1. Glenallachie 12
• Nose: Rich with honey, vanilla, and butterscotch. There are also hints of banana, raisins, and a slight spiciness.
• Palate: Smooth and sweet, with flavors of honey, toffee, and orchard fruits. There’s a nice balance of oak, chocolate, and a touch of cinnamon spice.
• Finish: Medium to long, with lingering notes of honey, dried fruit, and gentle oak.
2. Glen Scotia 15
• Nose: Fruity and maritime, with notes of apricot, peach, and a slight brininess. Hints of vanilla, oak, and a touch of leather add complexity.
• Palate: Full-bodied and rich, with flavors of caramel, spices, and dried fruits. There’s also a subtle saltiness and a gentle smokiness.
• Finish: Long and dry, with a mix of fruit, oak, and subtle coastal elements.
3. Glenglassaugh Portwood Finish
• Nose: Sweet and fruity, with notes of berries, honey, and caramel. The port influence brings in a rich layer of red fruits like raspberry and cherry.
• Palate: Silky and rounded, with flavors of red berries, dark chocolate, and a hint of spice. There’s a creamy texture with a touch of malt.
• Finish: Medium, with lingering sweetness from the red fruits and a hint of spice.
4. Glenrothes Whisky Maker’s Cut
• Nose: Rich and sherried, with aromas of dark fruits (raisins, plums), vanilla, and a hint of baking spice. There’s also a nutty and oaky character.
• Palate: Bold and sweet, with strong sherry influence—think dried fruits, toffee, and dark chocolate. There’s a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg, with an oily mouthfeel.
• Finish: Long, warm, and slightly spicy, with lingering sherry and a hint of dried fruit.
5. Arran Amarone Cask Finish
• Nose: Fresh and fruity, with aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and a hint of chocolate from the Amarone cask. There’s also a touch of citrus and vanilla.
• Palate: Lively and complex, with rich red fruit flavors (cherries, berries), balanced by chocolate, vanilla, and a hint of spice. The wine cask influence adds depth and a touch of tannins.
• Finish: Medium to long, with fruity sweetness and a slight dryness from the oak.
6. Port Askaig 100 Proof
• Nose: Bold and peaty, with intense smoke and maritime influences. Notes of iodine, seaweed, lemon, and a touch of vanilla add complexity.
• Palate: Full-bodied and powerful, with strong flavors of peat smoke, brine, and citrus. There’s a bit of vanilla sweetness and a hint of medicinal character, typical of Islay whiskies.
• Finish: Long and warming, with smoky, salty notes and a lingering citrus freshness.
This lineup has a diverse range of flavors, from the fruity and sherried notes of Glenallachie and Glenrothes to the bold, smoky character of Port Askaig.
